I believe that children of all ages can become independent learners. As a teacher, my job is more than teaching them concepts and good technique. It is about removing the barriers to learning, allowing students to explore, learn, and enjoy themselves.

I believe that parental support is crucial to the success of the child. This principle in action will look different for each individual child. The key is keeping an open mind as we discover your child's unique way of learning.

 

In our world, it is easy to become focused on quick results, at the cost of the student’s understanding and mindset. This results in a frustrated student who is increasingly reliant on their teacher to give them the answers. Conversely, I teach with the aim of helping them learn how to find their own answers. This builds a sense of confidence when faced with a challenge, laying the foundation for the child to continue the musical journey long after they leave my studio.

 

In conclusion, I aspire to train students to be independent, well-rounded individuals. When a student understands the principles of music, they can apply them independently, allowing them to explore and experience the joy of making music. As the saying goes, “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. But teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a year.”
